Anna Kournikova may Return to Pros!
The possibility of a return to proffessional tennis is left open for Anna Kournikova.
Anna Kournikova, who retired from proffessional tennis in 2003 due to back problem, said “the possibility is not completely out of the question”, though she doesn’t have any immediate plan to return to the WTA Tour.
Kournikova said this ahed of Saturday night’s match against Martina Hingis, in Brazil, on a court set up on Rio de Janeiro’s famed Copacabana beach.
Martina Hingis, 25-year-old Swiss player, who recently announced her plan to return to the professional circuit, retired from the WTA Tour in 2002 after battling a series of injuries.
“To face Anna will be a good test for me” and “I’m just waiting for a wild card to play in the Australian Open,” Hingis said.
Anna Kournikova teamed up with Martina Hingis to win the Australian Open doubles title in 1999 and 2002.
